TDIndustries, Inc. is seeking a Software Application Specialist II to support TDControls on the Shared Services team.

The role focuses on building the Tridium Workstation backbone using the Niagara framework, integrating 3rd party controller interfaces, and creating field-level templates for Siemens and Distech products across all project equipment. You will also develop Niagara and field-level programming to meet sequences of operation, and work closely with TDControls Partners to resolve

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate IT/CS degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years HVAC controls field experience.
  • 2+ years BAS controls software programming experience.
  • Tridium Advanced Niagara Certification.
  • Knowledge of LON, Modbus, and BACnet protocols.
  • Experience with Siemens or Distech controllers.

Responsibilities

  • Design building automation and access control workstations for new construction and service installations, ensuring adherence to specs and sequences.
  • Create Tidium Niagara Station backbone and communication structure per controls submittals and drawings.
  • Load and configure standard programming into field controllers and integrate field devices to the BAS front end.
  • Perform system integrations with 3rd party devices and equipment into Tridium, Siemens, or Distech controls systems.
  • Collaborate with TDControls Partners to resolve discrepancies and communicate constraints to complete work on time.
  • Collaborate in Sales to Operations Turnover Meetings to receive project specifications and contract documents.

Job description

Job Summary

Software Application Specialist II supports TDControls on the Shared Services team that works with all TDControls locations. This position is responsible for building the Tridium Worktstation backbone using Niagara framework, integrate 3rd party controller interfaces, integrate field level controller template programs from Siemens and Distech product lines for all equipment within a project, and builds and binds graphics for building automation and access control systems. Creates Niagara and field level programming for major pieces of equipment to meet sequence of operations for projects. Works closely with TDControls Partners to resolve discrepancies and effectively communicates application constraints to complete assigned work in a timely manner.

Essential Duties
  • Collaborate in Sales to Operations Turnover Meetings to receive project specifications and contract documents from the sales team, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Utilize technical expertise to design building automation and access control workstations for new construction and service installations, ensuring adherence to specifications, sequences of operation, and controls submittals.
  • Communicates with managers and project managers to complete job assignments in a timely manner.
  • Creates Tidium Niagara Station backbone and communication structure per controls submitals and drawings.
  • Loads and configures standard programming into field controllers and integrates the field devices to the BAS front end.
  • Performs system integrations with 3rd party devices and equipment into Tridium, Siemens, or Distech controls systems.
  • Creates programming for the control of equipment such as AHUs and simple Chiller Plant controllers using the GFX, ABT Site, PPCL, and Niagara software where required.
Minimum Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in IT or Computer Systems or equivalent experience desired.
  • 2+ years' experience in HVAC controls in a field technician role.
  • 2+ years' experience in BAS controls in a software programming role.
  • Tridium Advanced Niagara Certification.
  • Tridium wiresheet logic programming capabilities.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard communication protocols such as LON, Modbus, and BACnet.
  • Experience with Siemens or Distech controller products is required.
  • COMPTIA A+ and Net+ Certification
  • Strong knowledge of engineering processes.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fully proficient and independent design skills.
  • Customer focused, results-oriented professional and strong team player.
  • Self-starter that demonstrates initiative.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and stay organized to meet deadlines.
