TDIndustries, Inc. is seeking a Service Technician III – Controls to provide senior-level support, guidance, and training to other technicians while diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing building automation and control systems.

You will install, program, troubleshoot, and service advanced control systems, ensuring customer satisfaction and safety. This role requires a strong technical background and the ability to lead and train peers.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Two-year technical degree is preferred.
  • Tridium AX/N4, Distech, Siemens Desigo certifications.
  • 5–7 years of hands-on experience in advanced controls installation, programming and troubleshooting.
  • Fundamentals of A/C electrical circuits and low voltage DC circuits.
  • Experience with one or more controls platforms (Siemens, Distech, JCI, Inet, etc.).
  • Access and lighting controls installations and programming skills.
  • Advanced controls programming and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and device data sheets.
  • Experience with testing and metering devices.
  • Familiar with Windows operating systems and software.
  • Strong communication and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

  • Install, program, troubleshoot, and repair advanced control systems.
  • Diagnose system performance and perform planned maintenance.
  • Complete service contracts and respond to calls; explain work to clients.
  • Coordinate subcontractors and train technicians.
  • Participate in on-call rotation.
  • Coordinate multi-tech service calls.
  • Document invoicing, commissioning, and checkout data.
  • Adhere to safety requirements and vehicle policies.
  • Maintain equipment, tools, and stock on the service vehicle.
  • Create or modify programming using graphics, databases, and sequences.

Job Summary

The Service Technician III – Controls serves as a senior-level front-line resource by providing technical support, guidance, and training to other service technicians. This role is responsible for performing diagnostics, maintenance, and repair services on a variety of building automation and control systems.

Essential Duties
  • Proficiently handles the installation, programming, troubleshooting, and repair of advanced control systems.
  • Diagnoses system performance through observation, testing and setup as required by trade/position. Performs planned maintenance and inspections as indicated in the service agreement. Proficiently operates hand tools, power tools, gauges and measuring equipment.
  • Efficiently completes service contracts, quoted projects, and responds to demand service calls as per instructions. Cultivates enduring client relationships by providing detailed explanations of work completed to ensure customer satisfaction. Maintains open communication channels and meticulously documents project progress for all stakeholders.
  • Serves as a front-line resource to service technicians through technical support. Coordinates the work of subcontractors, and trains and provides guidance to technicians.
  • Participates in technician on-call-stand-by rotation as dictated by business unit policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates multi-tech service calls.
  • Completes documentation of invoicing, commissioning, and checkout data based on hours worked and materials or equipment used to complete the service.
  • Safely drives a motor vehicle and trailer, follows requirements of company vehicle driving policy and adheres to all company safety requirements.
  • Maintains equipment, tools, and inventory stock on service vehicle.
  • Purchases materials and issues purchase order numbers to suppliers. Uses technology/software to create and modify programming such as graphics, data bases, sequences, etc.
Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED is required
  • Two-year technical degree in related field is preferred
  • Tridium AX/N4, Distech, Siemens, and Siemens Desigo Certification
  • 5-7 years of hands-on experience in advanced controls installation, programming, and troubleshooting
  • Required: Fundamentals of A/C electrical circuits and low voltage D/C electrical circuits and operation
  • Required: Hands on experience with one or more controls platforms (Siemens, Distech, JCI, Inet, etc.)
  • Required: Access controls and lighting controls installations and programming skills
  • Required: Advanced controls programming and troubleshooting skills
  • Must have ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and device data sheets
  • Must have ability to use testing and metering devices
  • Familiar with Windows operating systems and software
  • Professional demeanor, solid interpersonal skills with good written and oral communication capability
  • Demonstrates strong business ethics at all times
