Job summary

Knowledge Builders Inc. is seeking a Software Analyst for the Automated State Support Enforcement and Tracking System (ASSETS) in New York.

This role requires translating user needs into software requirements and collaborating with developers, testers, and staff across the state’s child support program. The ideal candidate will lead design sessions, refine requirements, and document functional specifications while supporting the migration from legacy systems.

Qualifications

• 84 months experience interpreting customer business needs and translating them into application and operational requirements using recognized business analysis methodologies.
• 48 months experience in creating models using Monarch Tool.
• 84 months experience in creating and manipulating data in legacy application for testing purposes.
• 60 months experience in reading and extracting rules from legacy code (COBOL).
• 84 months experience organizing Joint Application Development sessions with developers and SMEs to analyze usability vs performance.
• 84 months experience using Team Foundation Server to facilitate change requests and bugs.
• 84 months experience documenting as-is and to-be states of business processes using flow charts, process models, and functional requirements.
• 60 months experience using HTML/WSIWYG editors to create and maintain mockups.
• 84 months experience in creating templates for generating documents from policy inputs.

Responsibilities

• Author business documents for various features (use case diagrams, flow charts, data tables, mock-up screens).
• Refine requirements with development and architecture teams and assist in technical designs.
• Lead Joint Application Design sessions and present requirements to users.
• Coordinate testing to ensure modules meet requirements and support feature deployments.
• Extract business rules from legacy applications and translate into specs.
