Job summary

1X in California is seeking an entry-level Team Member to cut, bond, sew, and assemble prototypes and fixtures on-site, working closely with engineers and designers. You will learn fabrication fundamentals, measurement, and assembly in a hands-on environment.

This role emphasizes safety, precision, and ongoing mentorship, with a clear path toward an engineering or manufacturing track as you develop skills in textiles, elastomers, and softgoods.

Qualifications

• Minimum Requirements: 0-3 experience; High school diploma or equivalent; technical certificate or trade training is a plus; hands-on projects encouraged.
• Foundational technical sense in measurement, tolerances, and assembly; CAD reading and basic patterns.
• Preferred: cut-and-sew, adhesives, tooling and safe shop practices.

Responsibilities

• Cut, sew, bond, and assemble prototypes and fixtures to spec.
• Prepare materials, maintain shop tools and equipment, keep space organized.
• Document measurements and results for traceability across the team.
• Collaborate with engineers and designers, absorb feedback to grow toward ownership.
• Build fundamentals of fabrication, measurement, and assembly for strong engineering growth.
