Job summary

LSUE is seeking an Assistant Coach for its softball program on an intern basis. The role focuses on coaching student-athletes, supporting academics and athletic development, and assisting with practices, recruitment, and travel.

You will participate in community outreach and help maintain facilities, with additional duties as assigned by leadership. The position requires a high school diploma, coaching or playing experience, and the ability to work evenings and weekends, including travel.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Coaching and/or playing experience preferred.
• Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends with travel.
• Background check required per LSUE policy.
• Valid LA driver's license for recruiting-related travel.

Responsibilities

• Provide training, discipline, and coaching to student-athletes to drive a competitive softball program and support their academic, physical, and social development.
• Assist Head Coach with practices organization, recruitment, and team travel.
• Represent LSUE Athletics in the community and at department events to promote the program and university.
• Maintain the softball facility and related equipment.
• Accept additional duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics and Head Softball Coach.
