Job summary

LEAP Academy University Charter School is seeking an Assistant Coach for Softball to work with the Athletic Director to develop athletes’ skills and peak performance during competitions and tournaments. The role also includes leadership in recruiting and maintaining a quality team through the season.

The Assistant Coach will coordinate practice planning, player fitness, nutrition guidance, and safety protocols while ensuring eligibility through academic monitoring and conduct.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• NJSIAA Certified.
• CPR & First Aid Certified.
• Proven track record of successful leadership and team progression.
• Knowledgeable on the latest development and innovative training methods and techniques.
• Must be available for all games.

Responsibilities

• Recruit a strong, high quality team; minimum of 15 players per sport.
• Schedule athletes for sports physicals with Wellness Clinic.
• Plan/propose a minimum of three fundraisers for team purchases.
• Arrange transportation to sporting engagements.
• Work with Student Management Team to monitor grades and disciplinary actions for eligibility.
• Develop team practice schedule and share with Principals and Office Managers.
• Document injuries and seek medical attention when necessary.
• Plan and prep "Senior Night" Home Game.
• Communicate rules and procedures of the sport; motivate athletes.
• Plan and implement fitness conditioning training schedule.
• Advise on nutrition, health, safety and use of sports equipment.
• Assess and log athletes' performance during practices and drills.
• Monitor attendance, participation, and behavior.
