Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Houston is seeking a Soft Lines Merchandising Specialist to sort, hang, and price donated clothing and household textiles. You will organize items by department, size, and category to keep the sales floor stocked and visually appealing.

This role supports the Donated Goods Program by processing donations in the backroom, maintaining an orderly workspace, and assisting customers as needed while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively and interact well with individuals with diverse personalities and communication styles.
• Retail sales experience is preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule.
• Must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Sort soft goods donations according to GWH quality guidelines to maximize production.
• Hang sellable items and organize by department, category, and size.
• Price soft goods merchandise according to current GWH pricing guidelines and use tagging equipment.
• Greet customers and assist with basic questions about store operations and merchandise.
• Assist with unloading donations from donor vehicles and with loading/unloading equipment as needed.
• Perform housekeeping duties and maintain a clean, safe, organized workstation.
