Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Houston is seeking a Hard Lines Merchandising Specialist to sort and price donated items, support backroom operations, and maintain a safe, efficient work floor. You will assess merchandise value, prepare items for sale, and assist donors while upholding Goodwill guidelines.

Responsibilities include organizing the backroom, supporting pricing decisions, and ensuring a clean, safe environment for staff and customers. Prior retail or donation center experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
• Clear communication with diverse individuals
• Retail sales experience preferred

• Reliable transportation to and from shifts

Responsibilities

• Sort and grade hard goods donations to maximize production.
• Research merchandise value using pricing guides or online platforms.
• Assist with donation intake and forklift/tablet processes as needed.
• Keep work area clean, organized, and safe at all times.
• Assist donors and unload donations from vehicles.
• Perform housekeeping and safety duties across assigned areas.
• Support in loading/unloading equipment and maintaining inventory continuity.
