Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC in Bloomfield, Connecticut seeks a Soft Goods Technician to join the sewn products team. You will produce parachutes, insulation covers, and other fabric components for Starfall, Dragon, Starship, and Starlink programs, using sewing machines and hand stitching.

Responsibilities include reading engineering drawings, preparing materials, installing hardware, operating automated equipment, maintaining logs, and upholding safety standards in a 1+ year manufacturing

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• 1+ year hands-on manufacturing/production experience.
• 1+ year experience with workplace software (Google Workspace, MS Office, internal data/ticketing systems).
• Proficiency reading and interpreting basic engineering drawings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare materials and tools for work.
• Handle fabrics and materials (nylon, kevlar, zylon, spectra, teflon).
• Cut and mark materials from templates to tolerances.
• Read instructions and assembly drawings to complete products.
• Log actions in production and quality logs.
• Install hardware (pins, rivets, grommets, snaps, zippers).
• Stitch components by machine or hand sewing.
• Adjust machine settings and monitor operation for quality.
• Maintain workspace cleanliness and organization.
• Collaborate with engineering to resolve issues and improve processes.
