Job summary

SpaceX in Bloomfield, CT is seeking a Soft Goods Technician (Sewer) to assemble fabric components for Starfall, Dragon, Starship, and Starlink programs. You will sew, install hardware, read drawings, and operate multiple sewing machines on a busy production line.

Requires 1+ year in manufacturing and willingness to work long shifts, weekends, and overtime; experience with nylon, kevlar, or similar fabrics is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ years in manufacturing or production setting.
• 1+ year of experience with workplace software (Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, internal data or ticketing systems).

Responsibilities

• Prepare materials and tools for production.
• Handle fabrics and materials with different properties (nylon, kevlar, zylon, spectra, teflon).
• Cut and mark materials from templates and patterns to tolerances.
• Read engineering drawings to assemble products accurately.
• Log production and quality data in logs and systems.
• Install hardware such as pins, rivets, grommets, snaps, zippers, and fasteners.
• Operate sewing machines or hand sew components as required.
• Maintain safe, clean, and organized workspace.
