Qualifications

• Associate degree or commensurate training for mental health technician.
• Education may be met by military training; specialty must be mental health technician.
• Training to intervene and restrain violent or potentially violent or suicidal clients.
• Minimum of three years' experience as a mental health technician.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake interviews under supervision of a licensed mental health professional.
• Assist with care and treatment of psychiatric, drug and alcohol clients.
• Lead or assist individual or group therapy sessions as directed.
• Observe clients and report to licensed staff; collect data for monthly statistics.
• Maintain and populate databases; prepare training agendas and daily correspondence.
• Prepare attendance rosters and support data for active-duty personnel using behavioral health services.
