Job summary

The University of Wisconsin – La Crosse maintains an ongoing pool of instructors to support Sociology needs. In this pool, instructors work under the department chair and teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in person, hybrid, or online.

Duties include preparing courses, staying current in the content area, evaluating student work, providing timely feedback, maintaining records, and holding office hours. Workload may include advising students and service to the department.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Sociology or equivalent; progress toward doctorate may apply.
• Ability to teach undergraduate and/or graduate Sociology courses and provide substantive feedback.

Responsibilities

• Develops instructional design and curriculum for Sociology courses.
• Serves as initial contact for students regarding course content and expectations.
• Facilitates in-person, hybrid, and online instruction and assesses student performance.
