Job summary

Dyersburg State Community College invites applicants for Sociology adjunct instructors for day, evening, and online classes held in Dyersburg, Covington, Paris, or at one of our off-campus centers. Initial assignment may be at one of our teaching locations, but the official work station assignment may change each semester.

The successful applicant will become certified and fully use the course management system (eLearn) for all classes.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with 18 graduate semester hours in Sociology.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students and other college personnel required.
• Teaching sociology courses at multiple campuses (Covington, Dyersburg, Paris) as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned sociology courses at Covington, Dyersburg, and/or Paris; prepare course materials; evaluate student learning, maintain class records, and submit required reports on time.
• Becoming certified and fully use the course management system (eLearn) for all classes.
• Attend required meetings, report attendance, early alert notifications, and final grades prior to deadlines, and communicate curriculum and personnel needs to the chair/dean.
