Job summary

Omaha Marriott Downtown At The Capitol District is seeking a professional Server for Society 1854 to deliver exceptional dining experiences in downtown Omaha. You will tailor service to guests, ensure timely, courteous, and professional food and beverage experiences, and contribute to superior guest satisfaction.

The role requires knowledge of menu items and service standards, prior fine dining experience, and the ability to handle guest needs with empathy while maintaining a polished appearance

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent preferred.
• Strong knowledge of food & beverage service, etiquette, and menu items.
• Minimum 1 year of fine dining service preferred.
• Capable of handling complaints with empathy and proactive solutions.
• English proficiency for guest requests and reservations.
• Experience with POS and cash handling preferred.
• Able to lift up to 30 pounds and move through crowded spaces.
• Flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, holidays; reliable transportation.
• TIPS and Douglas County food handler certification required; CPR/First Aid preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and explain specials & promotions.
• Understand menu including ingredients and preparation of the dishes.
• Record and input guest orders into the Point of Sale system.
• Retrieve, confirm, and deliver orders with condiments; follow liquor regulations.
• Replenish beverages and ensure overall guest satisfaction.
• Collect payment, thank guests, and invite them to return.
• Complete side work and cleaning tasks including restocking and replenishing condiments.
• Address and resolve guest complaints.

What will you be doing?

What do you bring to the role?

• High school degree or equivalent preferred
• Must have high level of knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations, etiquette, appropriate table settings, service ware, and menu items.
• One year or more of service in a fine dining outlet preferred.
• Handle customer complaints with empathy and provide proactive solutions.
• Proficient in English for guest requests, memos, and reservations.
• Ability to work POS system and cash handling experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds unassisted on occasion as well as move through crowded rooms to seat guests.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays and have reliable transportation to and from work
• Ability to obtain any government required license or certificate. TIPS and Douglas County food handler certification required. CPR certification and / or First Aid Training preferred.
