Job summary

The Stepping Stones Group is seeking a compassionate and dedicated School Social Worker to join our Denver, CO-based team. This full-time role supports students’ academic, social, emotional, and behavioral success within a positive learning environment.

You will collaborate with students, families, educators, and community partners to identify barriers to learning, provide counseling, and connect students with resources to promote educational achievement and well-being.

Qualifications

• MSW from an accredited program with state school social work licensure
• State licensure or CDE certification
• Experience in schools or pediatrics preferred
• Knowledge of special education processes, behavioral interventions, and student support services
• Strong communication, collaboration, crisis intervention, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively with students, families, educators, and community agencies

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling to support students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs
• Conduct assessments and help identify barriers impacting student learning and school participation
• Develop and implement intervention plans to support student success
• Provide crisis intervention and conflict resolution services as needed
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, psychologists, counselors, and related service providers
• Participate in IEP, 504, MTSS, and student support team meetings as appropriate
• Connect students and families with school and community resources
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate case notes, reports, and documentation
• Support attendance initiatives, behavioral interventions, and social-emotional learning programs
• Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal regulations regarding student services
