Job summary

Ohio State University James Cancer Hospital Social Work Department is seeking an experienced MSW for inpatient and outpatient psychosocial services. The role supports patients and families across medical treatments, with emphasis on psychosocial assessments, counseling, crisis intervention, discharge planning, and resource linkage.

Weekend shifts are required as part of the coverage plan. The position requires a Master of Social Work from an accredited program and an Ohio social work license

Qualifications

• MSW from an accredited Graduate School of Social Work.
• State of Ohio Social Work licensure (LSW or LISW) or equivalent.
• Knowledge of PASAAR process for extended care facility placement and home healthcare setup.

**Scope of Position**Provision of social work services to inpatients, outpatients, and their families in The Ohio State University James Cancer Hospital.IRP Social Workers cover weekends and holidays.**Position Summary**Social work services include psychosocial assessments, mental health counseling, crisis intervention, financial counseling, discharge planning, health education and the provision of material resources and linkage with community agencies. Social work services are provided to patients/families to meet their medically related social and emotional needs as they impact on their medical condition, treatment, recovery, and safe transition from one care environment to another.
