Job summary

The Ohio State University James Cancer Hospital is seeking a Social Worker for the IRP department to provide psychosocial assessments, counseling, crisis intervention, and discharge planning for patients and families across inpatient and outpatient settings.

This role requires an MSW and Ohio social work licensure or equivalent, and includes weekend shifts; it offers opportunities to connect patients with community resources and support services.

Qualifications

• Master of Social Work from an accredited Graduate School of Social Work.
• Knowledge of the PASAAR process for extended care facility placement and the assessment and counseling processes involved.
• Knowledge of home healthcare set-up process and skills assessing neglect/abuse, including substance abuse and domestic violence.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychosocial assessments and mental health counseling.
• Offer crisis intervention, discharge planning, health education and linkage with community resources.
