Applicants must possess a degree in social work that fulfills all of the requirements for the Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) in a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.

A current, active, valid, unrestricted clinical license to practice Social Work independently, offered by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction is required.

To be eligible at the GS-13 level, you must have one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 in Federal Service. Specialized experience is defined as experience assessing the nature and extent of individuals' concerns; developing collaborative plans to improve their circumstances; providing appropriate assistance and services; and coordinating referrals to community resources and partner organizations as needed.
The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
