Key Responsibilities
- Deliver High-Quality Counseling Services: Provide individual and group counseling for students in grades 9-12, including mandated counseling for students with IEPs. Social Workers will utilize evidence-based interventions to support students with achieving personal goals and addressing social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
- Support Student Development: Build strong, trusting relationships with students, helping them navigate personal challenges and ensuring their growth both academically and emotionally.
- Assessment & Case Management: Develop and maintain treatment plans and case notes, in accordance with school and state regulations, including IEP counseling reports. Conduct holistic and evidence-based assessments to inform clinical interventions and coordinate appropriate care and referrals.
- Crisis Intervention: Serve as a frontline crisis responder by coordinating with the Dean’s team to address mental health and behavioral crises. Assist crisis situations from start to resolution, ensuring constant supervision and proper intervention, which may include student mediations.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct suicide and homicide risk assessments in accordance with Social Work Department’s Policies and Procedures on Risk.
- Collaborative Culture: Work closely with teachers, staff, and caregivers to address the individual needs of students, ensuring that both academic and social-emotional support systems are in place.
- Group Facilitation: Develop and facilitate support groups for diverse adolescent populations and their caregivers, ensuring that all students have the opportunity for healing and growth in a group setting.
- Engagement & Communication: Maintain effective communication with students, staff, and families to build relationships of trust and collaboration, contributing to a well-rounded network of student support.
- Family and External Agency Coordination: Collaborate with caregivers and external agencies, ensuring coordinated efforts in the areas of student mental health and well-being. Attend Caregiver meetings to foster engagement with the broader community, including IEP meetings for students on social worker caseloads.
- Supervision and Training: When applicable, supervise social work interns, providing them with hands-on experience and mentorship, and complete SIFI training to support their professional development.
- Additional School Engagement: Participate in after-school activities, student trips, and other community-building initiatives to foster relationships and create a positive school environment.
- Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation on all cases, ensuring all treatment plans and case notes are compliant with school and state standards.

We are seeking a compassionate, highly skilled social worker who is ready to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young people. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of adolescent development, trauma-informed care, and crisis intervention.
Qualifications:
- Master’s in Social Work (MSW) required.
- Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) required.
Experience & Skills:
- 3+ years of clinical experience in mental health or school settings preferred.
- Strong ability to engage in crisis intervention, de-escalation, and trauma-informed care practices.
- Experience working with adolescents from diverse backgrounds, including students in foster care, experiencing homelessness, or facing systemic barriers.
- Familiarity with restorative justice practices, special education support (IEPs), and mandated counseling is highly valued.
- Excellent communication, advocacy, and collaboration skills, with a passion for working in a team-driven, student-centered environment.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
