Job summary

The County of Santa Clara seeks a supervisory social work professional to lead case-carrying staff in public welfare services. You will review staff recommendations, consult on difficult cases, and ensure compliance with program rules and caseload guidelines.

Master's in Social Work or related field is required, with 3 years of experience at a Social Worker III level in the County. A valid CA driver’s license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work or related field from an accredited college.
• Three years of social work experience equivalent to a Social Worker III in Santa Clara County.
• Master's degree preferred for all positions and mandatory for specific programs.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, coach, mentor, evaluate and discipline staff.
• Develop staff casework skills and assign cases based on needs.
• Provide case consultation and review staff recommendations.
• Analyze methods and propose actions; follow up on treatment plans.
• Review eligibility determinations for services and caseloads.
• Interview complainants and adjust as needed; assist in resource development.
• Participate in staff meetings, in-service training, and reporting.
