Job summary

Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree and Maryland secondary social studies licensure. Preferred qualifications include three years of teaching experience and holding an MSDE license in Secondary Social Studies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in an applicable field of education.
• Meet the Maryland State Department of Education licensure requirements for Secondary Social Studies.
• Three years of teaching experience preferred.
• Holds a current Maryland MSDE license in Secondary Social Studies.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement instructional programs aligned with system goals and student needs.
• Prepare and document lesson plans based on HCPSS curricula to achieve objectives.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to students' development and engagement.
• Guide learning toward curriculum goals and ensure alignment with learning objectives.
• Maintain orderly classroom management and safety for students and materials.
• Communicate standards and progress to students and families.
