Job summary

The Salvation Army Naples Corps is seeking a Full Time Regular position in Naples, FL. The role provides social service assistance to eligible clients, including food, lodging, clothing, and financial aid, and requires accurate record keeping and referrals to partner agencies.

Responsibilities include interviewing clients to determine need, processing applications for assistance, stocking pantry items, and coordinating rent and utility aid with utility companies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in social or public service environment preferred.

• Greets and interviews clients to determine eligibility; records disposition and income/expenses; assists with applications; photocopies IDs and bills; maintains documentation.
• Provides food from pantry and stocks donated items; maintains pantry inventory and disbursements.
• Processes rent and utility financial assistance; coordinates with utilities and landlords.

• Schedule/Hours: M – F 8:00 pm – 4:30 pm – 37.5 hours a week

This position is responsible for:

• Provides social service assistance to eligible clients in the following areas: food, lodging, clothing, furniture, and financial assistance; interviews clients to determine need and eligibility to receive services; prepares accurate and complete client records; refers clients to community agencies and maintains effective working relationships with the same; ensures compliance with program policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greets and interviews clients requesting assistance to determine client's eligibility for assistance based on program guidelines and restrictions; records clients disposition and other pertinent information such as income, expenses, family and work history; assists clients in completing applications for assistance; photocopies social security cards, picture identification cards, payroll statements, utility bills etc.
• Provides clients with food from pantry; receives and stocks items donated for the pantry; maintains an itemized account of pantry disbursements and inventory.
• Processes rent and utility financial assistance for eligible clients; contacts utility organizations and landlords to arrange and process financial assistance.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Work may be performed in an office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like but not limited to the office environment due to travel requirements.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOULicenses and Certifications:

• Valid State Driver's License.

• High School Diploma or GED, AND
• Two year’s experience working in a social or public service environment with experience assisting the public. OR
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
