Job summary

The Salvation Army Daytona Beach Flagler Service Center in BUNNEL, FL is seeking a part-time Social Services worker (29 hours/week) with benefits, offering $17.00–$19.00 hourly. You will actively locate and assess the needs of the homeless, connect clients with local resources, and advocate to help them access eligible services.

Qualifications include a two-year college course in social work or related field, an associate degree, and HMIS documentation. Driver's license required.

Responsibilities

  • Interview applicants to determine eligibility for services based on guidelines and requirements; refer to other agencies.
  • Maintain relationships with homeless individuals to encourage entry into Salvation Army programs.
  • Attend community meetings to educate partners about the program and assess community needs.
  • Prepare and maintain case records/logs; ensure accuracy and enter data into HMIS.

Job Details Job Location: FLA-Daytona Beach Flagler Service Center - BUNNEL, FL 32110 Position Type: Part Time with Benefits 20 or More Education Level: Associate Degree Salary Range: $17.00 - $19.00 Hourly Travel Percentage: None Job Shift: Day Job Category: Social Services Schedule/Hours: M- F 9:00a.m.-2:30pm (29 hours per week)

Actively Locates and evaluates the needs of the homeless population in the community and ensures service delivery to this population; assesses the needs of individuals and connects then with various resources available through the Salvation Army along with agencies in the area. Serves as advocate for clients in order to acquire services that will enable them to functionally cope with their environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interview applicants to determine eligible for services based on established guideline and requirements; conducts needs assessments obtains pertains information and establish goals for eligible clients; refers applicants to other agencies.
  • Maintains creditable relationship with the homeless population nurturing a trusting in a continuing effort to preside homeless to enter The Salvation Army resident and non-resident's programs and tracking individuals unwilling to enter residential programs.
  • Attends community meetings with representatives of other agencies in order to educate them about the program while discovering the needs of the entities as it relates to the homeless community.
  • Prepare and maintain case records and logs on all assigned clients; ensure the accuracy and completeness of the same; enters pertinent information into established homeless management information system (HMIS)
