Job summary

California Job Shop in Deal, NJ is seeking a Social Services Program Director to oversee the launch and ongoing operations of a new Mental Health Counseling Center. This leadership role focuses on program development, service delivery, and strategic growth for behavioral health and social services.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's in a mental health field, licensure, at least five years of supervisory experience, strong collaboration skills, and familiarity with community needs,

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related mental health field.
  • Current professional licensure in a mental health-related discipline.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in behavioral health, mental health services, or social services, including supervisory or leadership responsibilities.
  • SIFI certification preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with and sensitivity to Orthodox Jewish community.

Responsibilities

  • Lead launch and oversee the agency's new Mental Health Counseling Center with focus on operations and service quality.
  • Develop and implement operational processes, policies, and procedures to support growth.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for all mental health and social service programs.
  • Oversee management of complex behavioral health cases.
  • Provide consultation and short-term counseling as needed.
  • Supervise Crisis Response Team and escalated crisis situations.
  • Collaborate with directors to achieve organizational goals.
  • Assist divisions in responding to behavioral health needs.
  • Build partnerships with community leaders and healthcare providers.
  • Develop and expand mental health programs to meet community needs.
  • Monitor and report on program outcomes and utilization.
  • Enhance data management systems for program evaluation.
  • Represent the organization in the mental health community and forge partnerships.

Description: Our client islaunching a new Mental Health Counseling Center at their New Jersey location and are seeking an experienced leader to oversee operations, program development, and service delivery. The Social Services Program Director will provide strategic leadership, operational oversight, and growth planning for behavioral health and social service programs. The ideal candidate will bring experience in behavioral health program management, staff leadership, community engagement, and operational excellence, with a commitment to improving outcomes for individuals and families in the communities they serve.
Responsibilities:

  • Lead the launch and ongoing oversight of the agency's new Mental Health Counseling Center, ensuring effective operations and high-quality service delivery.
  • Develop and implement operational processes, policies, and procedures to support the growth and success of the Mental Health Counseling Center.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for all mental health and social service programs and initiatives.
  • Oversee the management of complex and high-acuity behavioral health cases.
  • Utilize clinical expertise and case management skills to provide consultation, guidance, and short-term supportive counseling to clients as needed.

  • Assist onsite divisions in responding to client behavioral health and crisis-related needs.
