Job summary

The Salvation Army in Spokane, WA is seeking a Director of Social Services to lead and develop programs across Community Services, Housing, and related services. You will supervise staff, manage contracts, and oversee budgets to ensure high-quality services for participants.

This role requires a master’s degree in social work and proven leadership with budgeting, grant management, and CQI. You’ll collaborate with community partners, recruit staff, ensure compliance, and advocate for vulnerable

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work or related field required.
• 5 years supervisory experience preferred; 8+ years in social services/management acceptable with BS in related field.
• Experience administering private/public funding and contract management desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Community Services, Family Emergency Shelter, and Housing programs.
• Direct staff, interns, volunteers, and practicum students; ensure program alignment with TSA standards.
• Manage contracts, budgeting, billing, and reporting; ensure compliance with contract requirements.
