Job summary

The Salvation Army Lafayette in Indiana seeks a Director of Social Services to oversee Pathway of Hope, emergency utility and rent assistance, food pantry, transportation and seasonal activities, ensuring client needs are met efficiently.

You will supervise the social services department, lead case management, secure grants, coordinate reporting, and represent TSA in community networks. Travel for training and meetings is required.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree accepted in an area of ministry and/or social services.
• Background checks required for the position.
• Minimum of two years of supervision experience in comparable social service programs.
• Must have valid driver’s license and complete Safe from Harm; CPR/First Aid within specified timelines; Case Manager Certification; SIMS data training.

Responsibilities

• Define strategic goals with leadership and implement plans.
• Secure grants by planning and writing proposals and reporting metrics to authorities.
• Provide supervision, leadership, and administrative oversight for the Social Services department.
• Provide direct case consultation to case managers and volunteers.
• Plan and coordinate monthly case manager meetings and supervision.
• Engage with staff and officers on community linkages and reporting requirements.
• Represent TSA Lafayette in community networks as needed.
