The Salvation Army Santa Fe Corps in Santa Fe, NM is seeking a part-time Social Services Assistant to coordinate daily social service programs and interview clients for eligibility-based assistance. Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver daily social service programs for The Salvation Army Santa Fe Corps.
• Interview clients, assess needs, verify eligibility, and provide approved assistance.
• Administer assistance programs including vouchers, gas, bus passes, and food aid.
• Document services and maintain confidential client records.
• Enter client data into the WellSky database.
• Answer calls, route messages, check email, and follow up on applications.
• Use Microsoft Office for routine administrative tasks.
• Stock and organize food pantry inventory; remove expired items.
• Support holiday and seasonal programs and trainings.
• Comply with NM regulations and Salvation Army policies; work Tue–Fri.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate and deliver daily social service programs for The Salvation Army Santa Fe Corps.
• Interview clients, assess immediate needs, verify eligibility, and provide approved assistance.
• Administer available assistance programs, including clothing and furniture vouchers, gas cards, bus passes, market-style food assistance, rental assistance, New Mexico Gas Company assistance, and the PNM Good Neighbor Fund.
• Accurately document all services provided and maintain organized, confidential client records.
• Enter required client and service information into the WellSky database.
• Answer telephone calls, record and route messages, check and respond to email, and follow up with clients regarding applications and services.
• Use Microsoft Office applications to complete routine administrative work.
• Stock and organize food pantry inventory and remove expired or damaged items.
• Support holiday and seasonal programs, including back-to-school distributions, the Angel Tree program, and other seasonal social services activities.
• Complete all required food safety, PTM, and job-related training.
• Comply with State of New Mexico regulations and The Salvation Army policies and procedures.
• Work the regular schedule of Tuesday through Friday.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
