Responsabilidades

• Assist with preparing, organizing, and tracking SSDI and SSI applications and reconsideration appeals.
• Review medical records and supporting documentation to identify missing or insufficient evidence.
• Coordinate with claimants, medical providers, and SSA offices to obtain required information.
• Monitor claims for outstanding documentation requests, deadlines, and status changes.
• Help claimants complete disability-related forms, including Adult Disability Reports, Function Reports, and Work History Reports.
• Review SSA correspondence and identify required follow-up actions.
• Support the development of complete medical and vocational evidence files.
• Apply knowledge of SSA disability evaluation criteria, including the Blue Book Listings, medical-vocational guidelines, and relevant POMS procedures.
• Maintain accurate case notes, documentation, and claimant communications within our CRM.
• Assist with reconsideration appeals and coordinate referrals to qualified representatives when appropriate.
• Provide clear explanations of SSA procedures, requirements, and next steps to claimants.

We are seeking an experienced Social Security Disability Claims Specialist with extensive knowledge of Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) claims.

Preference will be given to candidates who have previously worked for the Social Security Administration (SSA) or a state Disability Determination Services (DDS) agency.

The ideal candidate understands the disability determination process, SSA policies and procedures, medical evidence requirements, and the appeals process.

We are particularly interested in individuals who have hands‑on experience evaluating disability claims, identifying documentation deficiencies, and navigating the reconsideration process.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing, organizing, and tracking SSDI and SSI applications and reconsideration appeals.

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated professional experience handling SSDI and/or SSI disability claims.
• Strong understanding of the SSA disability determination process, including initial applications and reconsideration appeals.
• Experience reviewing medical evidence and identifying documentation requirements.
• Familiarity with SSA forms, correspondence, and procedural deadlines.
• Working knowledge of SSA regulations, POMS, and disability evaluation standards.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple active cases.
• Ability to work independently and maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive claimant information.

Preferred Qualifications

• Former SSA Claims Specialist, Claims Representative, Disability Examiner, or DDS employee.
• Three or more years of experience working directly with Social Security disability claims.
• Experience developing or reviewing complex medical evidence.
• Knowledge of SSA reconsideration procedures and administrative appeals.
• Experience handling both SSDI and SSI claims.
• Familiarity with electronic disability claim systems and case management software.
• Experience working with attorneys, accredited representatives, or disability advocacy organizations.
