Job summary

Missouri State University’s TRIO Upward Bound program seeks a Social Media and Student Engagement Assistant – Work Study. You will manage the program’s social channels, create content, and support communications to promote activities and student achievements.

You will collaborate with staff on recruitment materials, update the website, and help with print and digital materials for events and workshops. A 10–20 hour/week schedule will include travel to target high schools.

Qualifications

• Must have Federal Work Study eligibility.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work professionally with high school students.
• Reliable, organized, and able to complete assigned tasks independently.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to target schools and activities.
• Must complete background check prior to employment.
• Experience with social media platforms.
• Familiarity with Canva or similar graphic design tools.
• Interest in communications, marketing, social media, or education.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, or similar software.

Responsibilities

• Manage TRIO Upward Bound program social media and digital content.
• Design promotional materials and graphics; post content for program events.
• Assist with website updates and online outreach; document social content.
• Collaborate with staff to develop recruitment materials in digital and print formats.
• Provide limited administrative support and help maintain student files.
