Job summary

CenterPoint Energy in Houston is seeking a Social Media Specialist to monitor and manage our social channels, publish timely content, and engage customers, media, and stakeholders. You will create multimedia content using photography and video and provide real-time insights during high-impact events.

Responsibilities include analyzing trends, collaborating across teams, and supporting campaigns and crisis responses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or related field preferred.
• Up to two years of professional work experience with familiarity with social media channels.
• Ability to create engaging social media content using photography and video.
• Experience in crisis response in social media is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Understand social media landscape and policy to support objectives.
• Identify and analyze social and digital trends.
• Collaborate across teams to support campaigns/events.
• Write and post/manage content for all company social channels.
• Shoot video, take photos, and produce multimedia content.
• Collaborate with marketing to create graphics.
• Video editing.
• Daily monitoring of social channels and respond to questions.
• Rotating nights and weekends on crisis response.
• Support live events on social media.
