Job summary

CenterPoint Energy in Houston seeks a Senior Corporate Media Specialist to lead external communication plans, act as a spokesperson, and manage storytelling across channels. You will collaborate with operations, customer, government relations, regulatory teams and external stakeholders to protect and enhance the company's reputation.

The role requires 5–7 years in communications, crisis response experience, and the ability to translate complex information for broad audiences.

Qualifications

• 5 to 7 years of communications experience.
• Experience as a company/organization spokesperson.
• Experience in crisis response, including in an Incident Command System (ICS)

Responsibilities

• Act as company spokesperson, conducting interviews with media and engaging the public.
• Serve on the emergency response communications team and support crisis situations as needed.
• Develop and implement external and internal communication plans with key messages and channels.
• Coordinate media training and stakeholder outreach for executives and staff.
