Description Position at MOZ Group

Social Media Marketing Specialist

Moz and STAT, within the Moz Group (a subsidiary of Ziff Davis, Inc., NASDAQ: ZD), specialize in SEO data and platforms. As a leading provider of marketing technology, Moz empowers individuals and businesses to increase their online presence and grow revenue by harnessing the power of web search.

Are you a results-oriented social media expert with B2B social media brand marketing experience? Now is your chance to independently own and drive Moz's social media strategy. As our Social Media Marketing Strategist, you'll be the strategic engine behind our social presence, shaping engaging narratives and driving meaningful conversations that fuel the success of our SEO software suite: Moz Pro, Moz Local, and Moz API, as well as our content and MozCon events.

Join us to take the helm of Moz’s Social Media Marketing program, where you'll be empowered to shape and execute Moz's social media strategy from the ground up. In this pivotal role, you'll collaborate across internal teams, developing and executing impactful social media programs that support our business objectives.

We're looking for a self-driven individual who thrives on collaboration, working effectively with diverse teams to deliver impactful social media initiatives that drive tangible results. The ideal candidate will have a strong pulse on current social media trends, a deep understanding of audience motivations, and a talent for translating technical SEO information into engaging narratives. You will play a key role in enhancing Moz's social media impact and aligning it with broader marketing and business goals.

This is your opportunity to be the architect of Moz's social voice and to influence how we connect with and empower the global SEO community.

Responsibilities:
  1. Ownership of Moz's social media strategy and presence across all relevant platforms, ensuring alignment with marketing and business goals.
  2. Strategy, execution, delivery, and analysis of all social media marketing programs, including organic content, community engagement, and brand advocacy.
  3. Creating compelling, platform-optimized social media content in various formats (text, images, videos, infographics) that translate technical SEO concepts into accessible narratives.
  4. Developing and maintaining a comprehensive monthly content calendar that incorporates campaigns, SME insights, industry news, and evergreen resources.
  5. Implementing strategies to foster online brand advocacy, engaging with key advocates, and amplifying their contributions.
  6. Monitoring brand sentiment, engaging in industry conversations, and addressing feedback professionally and promptly.
  7. Utilizing Sprout Social to track and analyze social media metrics, generating reports to inform strategy.
  8. Making data-driven adjustments based on performance insights.
  9. Collaborating with internal teams (Content, Product Marketing, SEO) to ensure cohesive messaging.
  10. Training and supporting employee advocacy initiatives and the social media presence of Moz's Subject Matter Experts.
  11. Contributing to the social media promotion of MozCon and other marketing events.
  12. Maintaining and evolving Moz's brand guidelines related to social media.
  13. Identifying opportunities for influencer partnerships to reach new audiences.
  14. Managing the social media editorial calendar within Jira or similar project management tools.
  15. Staying updated with social media trends, algorithm changes, and best practices.
  16. Exploring and experimenting with new platforms, formats, and strategies to maximize engagement.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in brand social media marketing, preferably in B2B or SaaS industries, with a strong understanding of platform-specific strategies.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills for engaging content creation.
  • Experience with social media management tools like Sprout Social for scheduling, monitoring, and analytics.
  • Proficiency in content creation tools such as Canva.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, capable of handling multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
Must Have:
  • A clear understanding of how social media marketing contributes to business objectives and customer engagement.
  • Proven success in developing and executing social media strategies that increase engagement and brand awareness.
  • Proficiency with social media management platforms for scheduling, monitoring, analytics, and reporting.
  • Ability to create high-performing content that resonates with a technical audience and drives results.
  • Strong understanding of brand voice consistency and approachability in a technical context.
  • Data-driven mindset, using KPIs to refine strategies.
  • Effective collaboration skills with cross-functional teams to ensure messaging alignment.
  • Ability to translate business objectives into actionable social media plans.
Nice to Have:
  • Experience with paid social media advertising and video editing software.
  • Established network within the SEO or marketing industry or ability to develop influencer partnerships.
  • An interest in SEO and digital marketing, with a desire to learn more.
