Job summary

The University of Kansas is seeking a Social Media Intern to support Academic Success units. You will manage day-to-day content, engage students across platforms, and help plan live events. The role blends in-office and field assignments, with mentorship and development opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Experience with Canva and Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom, Express).
  • Strong communication skills demonstrated in application materials.
  • Experience in a creative marketing environment with strategic thinking.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, create and curate day-to-day content for multiple units' social media channels.
  • Develop and execute student engagement strategies for Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and LinkedIn.
  • Assist in developing campaigns to promote Academic Success initiatives.
  • Assist in in-person marketing events and tabling opportunities.
  • Create content addressing current trends and audience insights for effective outreach.
  • Collaborate with Digital Media team on branding and marketing strategies.
  • Utilize the Team Dynamics workspace to mark task completion and time worked.
  • Be present for departmental events and travel as needed.
  • Maintain consistent communications with Supervisors and Student Intern team.
