What We’re Seeking:

5280 Brands is hiring a social-native, community-obsessed Social Media Manager to build and lead the social presence for two standout brands launching in January 2026: an athletic beverage lifestyle brand and a wellness-forward mocktail brand built for Gen Z and Millennial consumers.

This isn’t just a content job—it’s a full-scale ownership opportunity. You’ll define the voice, tone, and daily rhythm for two brands from the ground up—starting 5+ months before launch. That means creating early buzz, building a following, and cultivating community before the first product even drops.

You’ll be the on-camera face of our supplement brand, producing daily short-form content that blends fitness, lifestyle, and real personality for a performance-minded audience aged 25–40. For the mocktail brand, you’ll lead and manage a contractor who will serve as the on-camera talent—guiding strategy, creative direction, and content execution to bring that brand to life in a fresh, relatable way. From trend spotting and live event coverage to community engagement and platform expansion, you’ll do it all—owning content calendars, showing up on camera, and helping these brands grow from zero to thousands of highly engaged fans.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own Social Strategy for Two New Brands: Lead the end-to-end social media strategy and execution for our two newest brands launching January 2026—an athletic supplement brand and a wellness mocktail brand built for Gen Z and Millennial consumers. You’ll define the voice, pace, and platform presence for both brands from day one.
  • Be the In-House Content Creator: Step into an on-camera role as the creator and cultural spark for our athletic supplement brand—filming lifestyle and fitness-forward content that resonates with high-performance consumers aged 25–40. You’ll produce a daily cadence of short-form videos, daily moments, product walk-throughs, and storytelling series that bring energy, authenticity, and relatability to every post.
  • Lead a Contractor for the Mocktail Brand: Manage and mentor a dedicated content creator who will serve as the on-camera face of our wellness mocktail brand—helping them bring the brand’s personality to life with clarity and consistency. You’ll lead creative direction, develop content calendars, review scripts and storyboards, provide feedback on tone and delivery, and oversee the full approval and editing process. You’ll ensure every piece of content aligns with our visual identity, brand voice, and campaign objectives while helping that creator grow into a trusted extension of the brand.
  • Be the On-Camera Voice at Events and Activations: Represent the brand in person at key events, pop-ups, and community activations—capturing content as it happens and showing up on camera to narrate the experience. You’ll plan and execute real-time coverage (interviews, walkthroughs, product moments, behind-the-scenes), engage with attendees, and turn live footage into content that performs across TikTok, Reels, and Stories. You’ll help make our IRL presence feel just as magnetic online.
  • Create Platform-Native Content That Converts: Storyboard and execute ideas for TikTok and Instagram—delivering content designed to entertain, inform, and drive engagement. You’ll tailor everything to feel organic to the platform while serving broader brand and growth goals.
  • Edit and Optimize Content for Performance: Edit short-form video, photos, and mixed-media content for each platform, ensuring every asset is visually strong, trend-aligned, and optimized for reach, shares, and saves.
  • Own the Social Content Calendar: Build and manage a high-frequency, daily content calendar for both brands—scheduling, publishing, and maintaining consistent presence across TikTok and Instagram. You’ll ensure each day’s content aligns with launch plans, product campaigns, and cultural moments while staying agile enough to react in real time.
  • Drive Community Engagement Daily: Respond to comments and DMs, interact with followers, and participate in platform trends and conversations. You’ll help turn passive scrollers into active fans—building community and brand connection in real time.
  • Stay Ahead of Trends and Social Culture: Monitor what’s trending across TikTok and Instagram—and translate those moments into on-brand content quickly. You’ll test new features, formats, and styles to keep our brands culturally relevant and ahead of the curve.
  • Track Performance and Iterate Fast: Use insights from platform analytics to refine your strategy, double down on what’s working, and drive measurable social growth. You’ll own metrics like views, shares, saves, follower growth, and engagement rate.

  • Content Strategy and Calendar Ownership: You’ve managed a high-frequency content calendar and understand how to balance evergreen storytelling with trend-responsive posts. You know how to plan, schedule, and ship high-quality content daily without sacrificing quality or brand voice.
  • Strong Editing and Optimization Skills: You can quickly shoot and edit content using tools like CapCut, Adobe Premiere, or native in-app editors. You understand how to optimize for platform performance—adjusting length, layout, captions, and music to improve results.
  • Trend-Driven and Trend-Creative: You know how to spot what’s trending—but you’re just as focused on creating moments of your own. You understand how to make content feel native to the platform while leading with a strong brand point of view. Your goal isn’t to chase trends—it’s to spark them.
  • Strong, Versatile Writing Skills: You write with clarity, tone, and intent—whether you’re crafting scroll-stopping captions, responding to DMs, or briefing a creator. You know how to communicate in a voice that resonates with the audience while staying true to the brand, and you can toggle between creative, conversational, and strategic writing with ease.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience managing social media strategy and content for DTC, lifestyle, or wellness brands.
  • Demonstrated experience as an on-camera content creator with a track record of building or growing a social following.
  • Proficiency with TikTok and Instagram creation tools, as well as editing platforms like CapCut, Adobe Premiere, Canva, and in-app editors.
  • Strong written communication skills for captions, community engagement, content briefs, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Comfortable using Slack, Notion, Google Workspace, and social scheduling or analytics tools (e.g., Later, Metricool, TikTok Analytics, Meta Business Suite).
  • Ability to travel occasionally for brand events, content shoots, and activations.
