Job description

Position Overview

Motorsport is seeking a strategic, creative, and self-starting Social Media Lead to expand our U.S. presence across platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and more. This role is ideal for someone passionate about racing—familiar with Daytona, Darlington, and the nuances of fan engagement through livery drops—and capable of translating that passion into engaging content that fosters conversation, community, and growth. You will be responsible for building Motorsport’s U.S. social identity from the ground up, utilizing creators, memes, social videos, and internet culture to increase followers, engagement, and relevance. Fluency in NASCAR, American car culture, and experience in building dynamic social pages are essential.

Your Role & Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow Motorsport’s U.S. social channels, focusing on TikTok and Instagram, establishing a distinctive, fan-first voice.
  • Create, schedule, and publish daily content aimed at increasing engagement, impressions, shares, and followers.
  • Identify and highlight viral racing content from various sources such as creators, fan cams, Reddit, or onboard footage.
  • Develop and execute original formats, social franchises, and repeatable ideas tailored for speed, relevance, and platform-specific behaviors.
  • Collaborate with video, editorial, and commercial teams to coordinate cross-platform initiatives and monetizable moments.
  • Partner with creators and influencers to integrate them into the Motorsport ecosystem through collaborations and co-created content.
  • Stay updated on trends, memes, and algorithm changes to keep Motorsport’s social presence reactive, fast, and culturally relevant.
  • Maintain a U.S.-focused social calendar aligned with race schedules, fandom moments, key events, and internet trends.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations for strategy optimization.
  • Represent the voice of the American racing fan organization-wide, ensuring content remains locally relevant and culturally fluent.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years managing and scaling impactful social media channels.
  • Deep passion or understanding of U.S. motorsports, especially NASCAR; familiarity with F1, IndyCar, and broader car culture is a plus.
  • Expertise in TikTok and Instagram Reels, with a strong grasp of native storytelling and voice.
  • Experience in building new accounts or scaling existing ones with measurable growth.
  • Proficiency in video editing and design tools (CapCut, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite preferred).
  • Strong instincts for virality, meme culture, and internet trends.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, remote environment; available for race weekends or live content moments.
  • Data analysis skills, with experience using tools like Meta Business Suite, GA4, YouTube Studio, etc., to inform strategy.
  • Experience working with creators or fan communities in sports, media, or entertainment is advantageous.
