Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Social Media, the Social Media Coordinator supports execution of Alterra Mountain Company’s social media strategy across Ikon Pass channels. This role works closely with the Social Media Operations Specialist — who owns the team’s calendar, workflows, vendor relationships, and events — to execute the recurring, day-to-day work that keeps social media publishing, influencer/athlete coordination, and customer service running smoothly. The Coordinator also supports the social media and content teams at Alterra’s mountain destinations on request intake and content logistics.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Publishing & Content Execution
  • Publish approved content across active social channels (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Pinterest, TikTok, and other channels as the team’s platform mix evolves), following the established content calendar

  • Draft day-to-day captions and short-form copy for scheduled publishing, following brand voice guidelines; partner with the copywriter and graphic designer on campaign-level creative

  • Receive, label, and upload photo/video content from content creators, Crew, and athletes to Dropbox and the DAM; track and secure usage permissions for user-generated content used in marketing

Influencer & Athlete Coordination
  • Coordinate day-to-day communication with influencers and athletes, including scheduling, deliverable tracking, and travel logistics

  • Prepare contract renewal requests and payment/invoice documentation for review and approval by the Operations Specialist, Legal, and Finance

  • Maintain the influencer and athlete directory and track all posts/deliverables in the team’s reporting platform(s)

  • Support fulfillment and gifting (athlete gifts, giveaway/sweepstakes prizes, guest loyalty items) as directed

Customer Service & Community Support
  • Monitor social media inbox messages and public-page comments; respond to routine inquiries per established talking points, escalating sensitive or high-visibility issues to the Operations Specialist

  • Monitor guest sentiment and flag trending issues to management during high-volume periods

Reporting & Request Intake
  • Support monthly and campaign-level social reporting compiled by the Operations Specialist; tag campaigns and content in the reporting tool

  • Maintain destination content-request intake forms and route incoming requests per the prioritization process the Operations Specialist owns

  • Support the Operations Specialist with vendor administration: attend platform update meetings, process purchase orders and invoices, and track contract renewal dates

Destination & Team Coordination
  • Support scheduling and logistics for monthly destination social media manager meetings, and provide on-site or remote logistics support for Crew Camp and Social Summit as needed
Work Environment

This role supports a fast-paced, always-on social media presence and requires availability during evenings, weekends, and holidays during peak season and high-volume operational periods, plus occasional travel to team events.
