Job summary

Austin Community College seeks a part-time Social Media Specialist to support the Office of College Relations & Marketing. You will craft and distribute engaging content across channels to enhance ACC's image and reach our multicultural audiences, driving digital follower growth.

Responsibilities include attending campus events for live content, maintaining the content calendar, and fostering two-way conversations to boost brand awareness while upholding ACC’s values and mission.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of major social media platforms, including X (Twitter), Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, and LinkedIn.
• Familiarity and working knowledge of social media efficiency tools.
• Demonstrate effective customer service and communication techniques.
• Demonstrate proficiency in using current social media platforms, scheduling tools, graphic design applications (Canva), standard word processing, databases, and virtual platforms (Google Meet and Zoom).
• Maintain an adaptive & cooperative work schedule.
• Represent the college with professionalism and diplomacy.

Responsibilities

• Works with the Office of College Relations & Marketing to support the district’s social media presence.
• Attends campus activities and events to capture live social media content and optimize promotional opportunities for the college.
• Engages and builds ACC’s presence amongst the ACC and community at large by driving brand awareness and growing reach.
• Assists in supporting the ACC District social media content calendar for all major platforms, curating content to each channel.
• Supports live events and conversations on social media platforms to facilitate engaging, two-way conversations.
• Assists in creating original and engaging social media content that fits ACC’s mission and values.
• Tracks emerging trends, communities, and platforms and recommends engagement when relevant.
• Supports office activities and events to increase ACC awareness and engagement (tabling, account takeovers, campaigns).
