Overview

The Soccer Assistant Coach-Mentor will assist with coaching youth in grades K-8 through a non-competitive, youth development program to help children establish healthy habits and develop critical life skills. The Assistant Coach-Mentor will help run practices and games based on the provided social emotional curriculum.

Qualifications
  • Knowledge of soccer, sports, or youth development preferred.
  • Passion for urban education, health education, youth development and sports.
  • Excellent people skills in a diverse environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with staff, site coordinators, parents, and players.
  • Ability to motivate others around you and work as part of a team.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without need for sponsorship.
  • Must have access to reliable means of transportation.
  • Proven examples of displaying the IH values: Passionate, Caring, Respectful, Trustworthy, Collaborative and Accountable.
Essential Accountabilities
  • Attend all required trainings prior to coaching and stay in compliance with certifications including but not limited to U.S. Foundation Curriculum training, CDC Heads Up Concussion training and SafeSport training.
  • Assist with soccer practices three times per week for 75 minutes each day, for a 10-12 week session.
  • Prepare for and ensure understanding of curriculum for each practice session.
  • Attend all special events (End of Season Party, etc.).
  • Communicate regularly with Site Manager and Program Manager(s).
  • Abide by organizational guidelines, schedules, and site policies.
  • Be active on Sling, reading all pertinent updates, clocking in and out, and communicating with your site group.
  • Provide motivating and encouraging environment for players.
  • Assist with data gathering, as requested.
  • Assist with bringing equipment to and from location as needed.

Immigration or work visa sponsorship will not be provided for this position.

Hiring Compensation Range: $17.75 - $19.25 hourly. Compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to skills, education, location and experience.

In addition to base compensation, associates may be eligible for a scorecard incentive, full range of benefits and generous paid time off. The base salary range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
