Job summary

AECOM seeks an experienced Environmental Transportation Growth Lead to join our Southern California team, based in Los Angeles or Orange County. This senior role drives growth across California, coordinating with multiple offices to expand environmental planning services for transportation projects.

The position emphasizes strategic market development, client relationship building, and leadership of a growing team, with opportunities to shape major initiatives and projects locally.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, Transportation Planning, or similar.
• 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education in leading environmental planning projects for California and Federal transportation agencies.
• A valid driver’s license is required, along with the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check in accordance with company policy.
• US Citizenship is required.
• Master’s Degree in an environmental or business management field.
• 15+ years of relevant experience supporting or delivering transportation infrastructure projects and programs.
• Business development acumen, including experience leading large, multidisciplinary proposal efforts.

Responsibilities

• Grow the Environmental Transportation Planning Business in Southern California.
• Collaborate with senior staff in Southern California to understand current clients, contract vehicles, and create an engagement plan and growth strategy for those clients.
• Network with existing clients to increase the volume and value of opportunities in the AECOM pipeline, focusing on maximizing existing MSAs/on-call contracts.
• Partner with EPP Regional BD Leads to strategically seek out new clients to expand market presence and services.
• Serve Environmental Business Line Client Lead for key LA/Orange clients.
• Serve as capture manager on key opportunities including pre-positioning, win strategy, solution development, competitor analysis, and identifying resources to fully respond to the bid requirements.
• Collaborate with other Southern California capture managers, client account managers, and project managers with developing Salesforce pipeline, tracking opportunities, support GNG decisions, support proposal strategy, and identify staffing needs.

Education

BS Degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, Transportation Planning, or similar

Master’s Degree in an environmental or business management field
