Job summary

Ryder Supply Chain Solutions is seeking a senior SOC Engineer to lead design and implementation of security event data collection across SIEM platforms. This role supports incident response, threat monitoring and analytics, with emphasis on log ingestion, enrichment and KPI reporting.

You will maintain SIEM health, automate alerts, and collaborate across security teams to optimize threat detection while guiding capacity planning and reporting to senior management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or 4+ years in Cyber Security/SOC, required.
• 4+ years in Cybersecurity or IT practitioner experience.
• 4+ years in Log data collection, enrichment, deployment and integration (preferred).
• 4+ years in SOC operations and incident response (preferred).
• Hands-on with IDS/IPS, firewalls, endpoint protection, AD, DLP; intermediate level.
• Strong OS (Windows/Unix/Linux) and networking knowledge (DNS/DHCP).
• Know KPIs/SLAs tied to security and business objectives (Advanced).
• Experience with scripting languages (Python/PowerShell/Bash; intermediate).
• Experience presenting to peers/senior execs (intermediate).
• Info Risk/Privacy/Security certs (CISSP/CCSK/CCSP/PCSC) preferred (1 year).

Responsibilities

• Design, engineer and implement SIEM data collection for incident response.
• Develop automated alerting for timely detection and response.
• Maintain security systems, updates and integration into broader security infra.
• Manage hardware and tools for optimal performance and availability.
• Integrate threat intelligence into detection capabilities.
• Lead SIEM content development: use cases, dashboards, KPIs, log sources.
• Leverage SOAR to streamline incident response workflows.
• Improve log onboarding and information flow strategies.
