Job summary

Amazon seeks an experienced SoC Power Engineer to model and estimate power across RTL to final netlist, driving power reduction in our ML accelerators. You will work with architects, designers, verification, and physical design teams to ensure accurate power estimates and implement power-saving techniques.

The role requires hands-on experience with power analysis tools, scripting, and a strong understanding of physical design, EM/IR, and thermal challenges at multiple levels, from die to server.

Qualifications

• BS in EE/CS or related field
• 4+ years in EE power analysis or ASIC power modeling
• Experience with power analysis tools (PrimePower/PowerArtist)
• Circuit-level power understanding
• Able to give RTL/Physical Designers feedback on power reduction
• Proficient in TCL/Perl/Python scripting
• Knowledge of Physical Design, EM/IR, Power Integrity, Thermal at multiple levels

Responsibilities

• Perform full-chip power analysis and modeling from RTL to gate-level netlist
• Develop and maintain dashboards for power rollups
• Create vectors for IR, Thermal, and power estimation with design teams
• Provide feedback to designers on power reduction strategies
• Perform lab power measurements and correlate with simulations
• Collaborate with Emulation teams to model chip-level power consumption
