Job summary

The City of Austin is seeking a Security Operations Center Officer to monitor access control, CCTV, and alarms across City facilities. You will respond to incidents, coordinate with law enforcement, and provide guidance to security staff during shifts.

You will document incidents, generate reports, and support after-hours operations, including on-call and overtime as needed. Strong customer service and calm decision-making are essential for success in high-pressure environments.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent; two years in an SOC.
• Experience with CCTV, access control, and alarm systems preferred.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to stay calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Oversees security and access control procedures for all security posts.
• Monitors alarms and cameras, responds to incidents, and investigates threats.
• Disseminates information to management and security staff during incidents.
• Provides direction and training to site officers and contract personnel.
• Documents incidents and prepares periodic reports for management.
