Position Summary

The Clinical Research Assistant will collaborate and communicate with Study Coordinator(s), Principal Investigator, support staff and clinical research colleagues to meet start-up and recruitment goals and facilitate compliant research procedures per GCP , federal, and institutional guidelines. This position will perform recruitment, data collection, and patient follow-up for the coordination of oncology research studies. This position is responsible for administering informed consent, HIPAA , questionnaires, coordinating biospecimen collection, accurately collecting and entering data into databases, documenting study activities, supporting preparation of regulatory documents, and assisting with other administrative or coverage duties as needed.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

Possess strong decision-making skills and the ability to problem solve and troubleshoot issues.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to thoroughly document procedures.
Customer-oriented and team-oriented.
Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally verbally and in writing.
Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
Evening work occasionally, overtime occasionally.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

Knowledge of ICH GCP , Federal Regulations and Guidelines; some research experience including demonstrated ability to follow established regulations, procedures, and protocols; research data collection and entry.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate clinical research studies of varying degrees of complexity.
Knowledge of ICH GCP , Federal Regulations and Guidelines; some research experience including demonstrated ability to follow established regulations, procedures, and protocols; research data collection and entry.
Some experience in human-subjects research; including obtaining informed consent and enrolling subjects into protocols; experience entering and managing data sets; medical chart review and abstraction.
Demonstrated ability to effectively operate at a high degree of independence.

Special Physical/Mental Requirements

Exposure to bloodborne pathogens, exposure to hazardous materials
