Job summary

Doeren Mayhew in Troy, Michigan seeks an Associate, SOC 1/SOC 2 Specialist to join the IT Advisory and Security Group in our Troy office. The ideal candidate has hands-on SOC 1/SOC 2 experience, including walkthroughs and control testing, with strong communication and business acumen.

Responsibilities include IT audit engagements, workpaper documentation, and report preparation. Some travel to client sites may be required; training and mentoring of junior staff is also part of the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Finance, Business or related field.
• Certifications: CISA, CISM, CPA, CISSP or progress toward certification preferred.
• 1–2 years IT audit or SOC experience preferred.
• Willing to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Executes and assists with SOC 1 and SOC 2 engagements, including walkthroughs, evaluating controls, testing operating effectiveness, collecting evidence, and report prep.
• Assists IT audit and advisory engagements by identifying risks, performing walkthroughs, testing controls, drafting findings and recommendations.
• Prepares clear, accurate workpapers per firm methodology and standards.
• Manages engagement responsibilities and priorities to meet deadlines and budgets.
• Collaborates with engagement team members to ensure efficient completion of client engagements.
• Assists with training and supporting newer Associates and Interns.
