Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking a SOC Analyst I to join our security team in the United States. The role focuses on detecting, monitoring, and resolving security incidents across the organization, and administering diverse IT security tools.

You will help improve processes and collaborate with IT and business units to address cybersecurity events and tool compatibility. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in information systems or CS, plus relevant experience with TCP/IP, SIEM, and security

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in information systems or computer science.
• Three years of related experience including TCP/IP services or networks.
• Experience with various operating systems, desktop software, and network topologies preferred.
• Basic knowledge of CIA triad and SIEM solutions.
• Ability to work with confidential information and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot security incidents across the organization.
• Assist with detection, monitoring, and resolution of security incidents.
• Administer IT security tools and applications.
• Collaborate with IT groups to resolve tool compatibility issues.
• Support investigations of IT or cyber-security events and propose resolutions.
• Work with project managers to meet milestones.

PRIMARY PURPOSE

• To troubleshoot various security incidents across the organization.
• To assist with providing feedback and resolution to mitigate future security shortfalls.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists with detection, monitoring, and resolution of security incidents.
• Administers various IT Security tools and applications.
• Assists IT groups and business units as necessary in troubleshooting compatibility issues between security tools and business or productivity programs.
• Assists management in investigating IT or cyber-security events and suggests resolution.
• Provides feedback and suggestions to improve IT Security processes and procedures.
• Works closely with project managers to meet and complete project milestones accurately and on time.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Supports the organization’s quality program(s).
• Travels as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Education & Licensing
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Major in information systems or computer science preferred.
• Experience
• Three (3) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required to include transmission control protocol/internet protocol (TCP/IP) services or networks experience.
• Experience with various operating systems, desktop productivity software, and network topologies highly preferred.
• Skills & Knowledge
• Basic knowledge of the security confidentiality, integrity, and availability (CIA) Triad
• Basic knowledge of security information and events management (SIEM) solutions.
• Ability to work with a broad range of security tools and new technologies
• Ability to handle confidential sensitive information with integrity
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills
• PC literate, including Microsoft Office products
• Analytical and interpretive skills

• Ability to work in a team environment
