Job summary

Amesbury Public Schools is seeking a Specialized Program Paraprofessional to support students in the SOAR program at Amesbury Middle School. The role focuses on emotional regulation, academic resilience, and social skills within a trauma-sensitive educational setting.

Responsibilities include assisting teachers, implementing IEP goals, and supporting students’ participation in classroom and social activities. Hours are full-time with a wage of $21–$34 per hour, and starting date is immediate.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with staff and students.
• Flexibility to adjust to different issues with students.
• Ability to assist students with academic and non-academic needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the educational and social development of students under the direction of special education and classroom teachers.
• Support implementation of Individual Education Plans and monitor student progress.
• Provide in-class support for academic functioning and social skills development.
• Assist with emotional regulation and coping strategies within the SOAR program.
• May assist with toileting as needed.
