Job summary

Snowbird is seeking a Snowplow Driver/Heavy Equipment Operator for seasonal winter work at Snowbird Resort. You will operate snow removal and maintenance equipment to keep roads, parking areas, and the village accessible and safe during winter storms.

The role requires a high school diploma, 2–4 years of heavy equipment experience, and a valid Class B CDL with medical certification. On-site shifts vary with winter weather and may include overnight stays during closures.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-4 years of heavy equipment or related experience.
  • Valid Class B CDL and current Medical Certificate preferred.
  • Minimum 21 years of age.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
  • Experience operating 18-speed manual transmissions.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and equipment maintenance skills.

Responsibilities

  • Operate snow removal equipment, including front-end loaders and dump trucks.
  • Perform and document pre-trip inspections.
  • Report on mechanical and safety issues.
  • Install, repair, and maintain tire chains.
  • Complete maintenance records, work orders, and parts documentation.
  • Perform basic equipment maintenance.
  • Follow all Mountain Operations and resort safety standards.

Schedule

Shifts depend on weather Must be available any day of the week, including weekends and holidays. Full-time hours during storm cycles; on call when conditions require. Typical shifts: Early mornings: 3:00 AM - 10:00 AM (may start earlier or run longer) Afternoons/evenings: 12:00 PM - 8:30 PM Evenings/nights: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM Overtime opportunities are based on snowfall and operational needs

Summary

Join the Mountain Operations team as a Snowplow Driver / Heavy Equipment Operator. In this seasonal winter role, you'll operate snow removal and maintenance equipment to keep Snowbird's roads, parking areas, and village accessible and safe during winter storms.

What You’ll Do

Working Conditions

Lift up to 100 lbs. Sit for extended periods and perform frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, and repetitive movements. Work outdoors in severe winter weather and challenging conditions. Occasional overnight stays may be required during canyon road closures. Frequent interaction with co-workers, management, and guests while maintaining a professional and positive attitude.
