Overview

As Boyne Mountain continues to expand its resort offerings, we are looking for a passionate, winter-enthusiast to assist in leading our snowmaking team year‑round. As Snowmaking Supervisor, you will assist in leadership of the snowmaking team – creating team culture, innovating operations, and delivering for our guests a remarkable winter experience.

Responsibilities
  • Actively monitor and support daily operations of the snowmaking team, including but not limited to: performing duties of all snowmaking positions; acting as a working foreman; planning work assignments; monitoring work in progress and checking completed work; skiing/riding to test product; coordinating with other departments.
  • Ensure successful (safe and efficient) charging, operation, and shutting down of the snowmaking system.
  • Coordinate and perform a wide variety of snowmaking maintenance tasks as required to keep the system operational or expand capabilities.
  • Regularly inspect all snowmaking work areas, including pump houses and all equipment and tools, to ensure proper function, cleanliness, and compliance with safety standards.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance on all snowmaking equipment – performed in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and/or company standards and maintain maintenance/repair records.
  • Troubleshoot: locate and diagnose problems within the snowmaking system.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the snowmaking control software and be able to help others troubleshoot; communicate with colleagues and contractors to diagnose and repair as needed.
  • Assist other departments as requested during periods of high volume, to maximize guest experience.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience with running heavy equipment and/or welding.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a professional manner.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and take direction.
  • Enjoy working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Understand the physical demands and hazards of the position; standing, walking, lifting, twisting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; exposed to moving parts, risk of electrical shock, vibration and high noise level.
  • Understand and follow all local, state and company safety procedures and policies.
  • Strong base of knowledge and skills related to compressor/pump mechanics, electrical systems, instrumentation, welding, pipe laying and construction.
  • Passionate about winter sports, the outdoors or hospitality.
  • Desire to learn new skills and help others.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English).
  • Detail oriented, organized, and able to quickly prioritize tasks and adapt accordingly.
  • Thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic, and collaborative environment.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, with varying hours based on season.
