Job description

Overview

Before the first skier clicks into their bindings each season, a lot of work has already happened on the mountain, and much of it is yours. As a Snowmaker at Boyne Mountain, you have an instrumental role in mountain operations: producing the snow that makes early season terrain possible and keeps the ski season going strong from open to close. It's technical, physical, outdoor work that directly shapes the experience of every guest who hits the slopes. We're looking for someone who takes pride in quality, stays sharp in cold conditions, and understands that the details of snowmaking, the right equipment placement, the right production levels, the right snow quality, make all the difference. As a Boyne Mountain team member, you'll also enjoy ski passes, golf passes, waterpark passes, and discounts on food, beverages, retail, daycare, and much more! Check hoses, nozzles, pipelines, and valves for needed repairs or adjustments, perform snow quality checks, and monitor and adjust snow production as conditions change throughout your shift. Reposition equipment as needed to direct snowfall to designated areas, and clear dirt and frozen snow from equipment.
  • Attitude is Everything - Snowmaking means cold nights, early mornings, and long shifts in whatever weather Northern Michigan brings. Your approach always brings focus, resilience, and a genuine commitment to doing the job right.
  • Develop Great People - Share what you know with teammates, look out for each other on the hill, and help newer crew members learn the job safely. Your experience and presence make the whole team better.
  • Serve First - Keep the operation running smoothly for the guests and teammates counting on it.
  • Recognize and correct unsafe equipment placement and working conditions promptly, and operate snowmobiles in accordance with all safety guidelines.
