Job summary

Winter Park Resort is seeking a Snowmaking Pump Controller who will start as Snowmaker and transition into grooming. The role operates heavy grooming equipment and snowmaking gear to prepare skiing surfaces, following WPRA policies and safety standards.

The position is seasonal with hourly pay of $24.50 and varies by experience and location. Candidates should have a High School diploma or GED and several years of equipment operation experience; CDL desired; willingness to work evenings,

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 4+ years in apprentice/journeyman program or equivalent in operation and maintenance of equipment involved in trail maintenance.
• Experience as snowmaker/skiing trail crew desirable.
• Flexibility with all grooming shifts.
• Knowledge of Winter Park trails and ski runs for optimal grooming.

Responsibilities

• Pre-operation checkout and fueling of vehicle.
• Groom and snowmaking duties, operate heavy equipment efficiently.
• Inform Supervisor of scheduled jobs not completed and perform safety checks.
• Maintain logs on equipment used and ensure a safe work site nightly.
• Assist in training Snowmaker I-III and coordinate field operations.
